International Conference & Exhibition on Borneo Heritage and Landscape

The ITCE2018 will involve a number of multi-disciplinary activities including aspects of culture and tourism together with excursions to places of local interest that should help participants mingle and experience Borneo in new and exciting ways. It aims to bring together scholars, researchers, policy makers and people related to the tourism industry to share their knowledge and experiences on any aspects of Tourism in ASEAN with special reference to Borneo. This is an opportunity for people from the region to celebrate and engage with Borneo and the wider ASEAN landscape of tourism and heritage and to re-connect with the past.

Submission

Submission of Abstract:

The abstract should not be longer than 500 words, including references. It should briefly introduce the topic of the research project; the research problem and/or the objectives; indicate the methodological approach planned/used for tackling the research problem; present the main findings (if any); and, present the main conclusions. The submission of abstract to the conference must be sent by email to itce.bsn@ubd.edu.bn or bsn@ubd.edu.bn

Submission of proceeding papers:

It can be either empirical, conceptual or working paper. Empirical papers should include: (1) title, (2) author, (3) abstract, (4) research background, (5) literature review, (6) research methods, (7) result and discussion, (8) conclusion and (9) references. Conceptual papers should include: (1) title, (2) author, (3) abstract, (4) research background, (5) literature review, (6) discussion, (7) conclusion and (8) references. Submission papers should be no longer than 8000 words, including references and 5 key words (to be written in words document, using double-spacing, font size 12 and Times New Roman). Referencing style must be made using the Harvard reference system.

Before submitting, please ensure that (1) the submitted paper has not been previously published or is not under simultaneous review elsewhere; (2) you warrant that the paper is not an infringement of any existing copyright and will indemnify ITCE 2018 organising team against any legal breach of such warranty. All submitted papers will be reviewed on the basis of merit, novelty and practical application. The priority will be given to the submissions that comply with the given criteria as much as possible. The submissions to the conference must be sent by email to itce.bsn@ubd.edu.bn or bsn@ubd.edu.bn. Once the paper is accepted, at least one author must register and present the paper at the conference.

Accepted papers will be published in conference proceedings with ISBN. A selection of papers may be considered for publication in the Springer-UBD IAS Book Series Edited Volume.

Accommodation

Recommended Accomodation

Conference attendees will be responsible for securing their own accommodations for the duration of the event. The organizer recommend that participants make arrangements at the following hotels:

• Grand City Hotel

Since it can be difficult to hail buses or taxis, complementary chartered shuttle buses will be provided to ferry participants from any of the recommended hotels listed above to the symposium venue. Shuttle bus schedules will be made available to participants via email a week before the event start date. Please note that participants staying in hotels other than those listed above will have to arrange their own transport to the event.
